Beck Devid Hansen (July 8, 1970), better known by his stage name Beck, was born in the United States. In the early 1990s, his experimental, lo-fi sound pushed him to stardom, and he became noted for combining different musical styles in his compositions.

Beck has explored various musical genres, including folk, funk, soul, hip-hop, techno, and hippie. He has published 15 works: 14 studio albums (three on independent labels), a handful of singles not included on any album, and a collection of sheet music.

In 1989, he changed his life and joined the city of New York's anti-folk campaign. At the beginning of the 1990s, he moved back to Los Angeles, where he recorded the smash single "Loser," which went platinum in 1994. That same year, he published his debut album, Mellow Gold.

Beck covered Neil Young's "Old Man" on September 25, 2022, in promotion for a game on Sunday football nights. Later in 2022, at the 65th Annual Grammy Awards, the song was nominated for Best Rock Performance.

A few weeks later, on February 10, 2023, he dropped "Thinking About You," his first original solo music since Hyperspace in 2019. On February 20, 2023, an official video for the song was released.

The summer tour that Beck and the French pop-rock band Phoenix are headlining together began in August and will wrap up in September 2023, featuring the release of the track "Odyssey" by Beck and Phoenix on June 21, 2023.
