Celtic Thunder is an Irish singing group as well as a stage show. The current lineup consists of Neil Byrne, Emmet Cahill, Colm Keegan, Ryan Kelly, and Damian McGinty. The December issues of Billboard magazine in 2008, 2009, and 2011 all awarded Celtic Thunder their Top World Album Artist. All three of their earliest albums were among the best-selling records in the world. Celtic Thunder performed at the 2009 New York City St. Patrick's Day Parade. Paul Byrom, a member of Celtic Thunder, announced his departure from the band on November 28. 2010. He stopped being a part of the band after their tour in 2010.

A temporary return of Damian McGinty to Celtic Thunder as a guest performer for their 2015 Very Best of Celtic Thunder Tour was announced on November 24, 2014. During a yearlong hiatus from performing with Celtic Thunder, Colm Keegan revealed on December 16 that he will release a new solo album. To replace Keegan, Emmet Cahill has returned to Celtic Thunder.

Keith Harkin announced his retirement from the band on April 26, 2016, to pursue a solo career. Michael O'Dwyer was named his replacement that very day. Michael O'Dwyer had to cancel his October 2018 fall tour and give his voice rest until December since he was sick. On the trip's final day, he was finally allowed permission to sing again. In 2019, Michael O'Dwyer departed Celtic Thunder to focus on his education and pursue solo endeavors.
