Empire of the Sun is an electronic music duo from Australia that was formed in 2007. The duet members are Nick Littlemore of the electronic dance band Pnau and Luke Steele of the alternative rock band The Sleepy Jackson. The duo's debut album, Walking on a Dream, was released in 2008 and achieved worldwide success, being awarded double platinum in Australia and gold in the UK.

"Walking on a Dream" (which contributed to the album) peaked at No. 64 on the UK Singles Chart and No. 10 in Australia (ARIA Singles Chart), while "We Are the People" (which contributed to the album) peaked at no. 14 in the UK Singles Chart. Walking on a Dream garnered eleven nominations and seven wins, including Album of the Year, at the 2009 ARIA Music Awards in Australia, adding to the duo's collection of accolades.

All of the group's prior content, including the profile photo, disappeared from the group's social media accounts in March of 2024. Released on 5 April 2024, the new song "Changes" was teased on the pages shortly after. The group said in May 2024 that their song "Music on the Radio" will be out on May 17th, and on July 26th, 2024, they will release Ask That God, their fourth studio album and first in eight years.
