Glass Animals is a 2010 Oxford-based indie music band from England. On the drums is Joe Seaward, while on the bass is Edmund Irwin-Singer, and supporting vocals, guitar, and keyboards are played by Drew MacFarlane, while Dave Bayley does songwriting. They achieved platinum status in the United States with the track "Gooey" off their debut album, Zaba (2014). 

Their 2018 MPG Awards double win (UK Album of the Year and Self-Producing Artist of the Year) and Mercury Prize nomination went to How to Be a Human Being, their second studio album. It was well-received by critics and won two MPG Awards. Regarding album charts, Dreamland reached number two in the UK and seven in the US.

After their song "Heat Waves" became popular on TikTok, the band became famous. As the most popular song on Triple J's Hottest 100 for 2020, it peaked at number one in Australia in February 2021. By September 2022, the song had amassed over two billion plays on Spotify. It went on to top the UK Singles Chart and the US Billboard Hot 100. 

Nominated for two Brit Awards in 2022, the band's "Heat Waves" was nominated for Best British Single and Best British Alternative/Rock Act. At the 2022 Grammys, they were nominated for the first time for Best New Artist.
