Miles Parks McCollum (August 23, 1997) is a rapper, singer, songwriter, record producer, and actor, better known by his stage name Lil Yachty. In 2015, his debut EP Summer Songs included the hit singles "One Night" and "Minnesota" (with Quavo, Skippa Da Flippa, and Young Thug), which brought him to online stardom. In March of 2016, he released his debut mixtape, which was given the name Lil Boat. In June 2016, it was revealed that Yachty had signed a recording contract with not one but three different record labels: Motown, Capitol Records, and Quality Control Music.

Starting with 2017's Teenage Emotions, Yachty has dropped five studio albums. His follow-up studio album, Lil Boat 3, was released in 2020, following the 2018 releases of Lil Boat 2 and Nuthin' 2 Prove. Psychedelic rock influenced Yachty's fifth studio album, Let's Start Here, which came out in 2023. The album's title comes from its first track. His album Lil Boat 2 peaked at number 2 on the Billboard 200, one of four albums.

Throughout his career, Yachty has distributed several mixtapes and extended plays, one titled Michigan Boy Boat and published in 2021. Lil Yachty's upbeat persona, outlandish hairdo, and guest appearances on "Broccoli" by DRAM and "ISpy" by Kyle in 2016 earned him widespread attention. The song "Broccoli" that Yachty worked on earned him a Grammy Award nomination.
