Sean Paul Ryan Francis Henriques OD (January 9, 1973) is a dancehall DJ from Jamaica. He was born in Kingston, Jamaica. Stage One, his debut album, was published in the year 2000. But his subsequent album, 2002's Dutty Rock, propelled him to stardom on a global scale. His third studio album, The Trinity, included two singles that reached no. 1 on the US Billboard Hot 100: "Get Busy"(2005) and "Temperature" (2005). Paul regularly goes under the moniker "Sean da Paul" since his stage name is so close to that of cricketer Shivnarine Chanderpaul. 

Except for Dutty Rock, all his albums have been nominated for Best Reggae Album at the Grammys. Many additional tracks have used Paul, such as the top-charting "Baby Boy" by Beyoncé, the songs "Breathe" by Blu Cantrell, "What About Us" by The Saturdays, "Rockabye" by Clean Bandit, "Cheap Thrills" by Sia, and "Fuego" by DJ Snake.

Paul appeared as coach adviser to Gwen Stefani on season 22 of The Voice in September 2022. "Niña Bonita" was a bilingual single by Paul and Colombian singer Feid released in April 2023. The song reached number 50 on the Hot Latin Songs chart, marking Paul's ninth appearance on the same list. It also became a top ten hit in Ecuador and Colombia and a top twenty in Peru, Spain, and Chile. Paul was nominated for Crossover Artist of the Year at the 2023 Billboard Latin Music Awards, which took place in October of that year.
