Janas Nierah Wherry (April 15, 1998) is an American singer and rapper, professionally known as Sexyy Red, was born in St. Louis, Missouri. Her boyfriend had been cheating on her, so she took up rapping to vent her anger. Given that her middle school nickname was "Red," she decided to go by that name professionally.

Red's debut single, "Ah Thousand Jugs," was released by Wherry that same year (2018). Her first mixtape, titled Ghetto Superstar, came out in 2021. They dropped the sexually explicit "Pound Town" in January 2023 with Tay Keith, which quickly became a hit online. Red made her debut in April on the "Slut Me Out" remix by NLE Choppa. Released with Nicki Minaj in May, "Pound Town 2" marked her debut on the Billboard Hot 100.

Her June mixtape, The Hood Hottest Princess, was critically acclaimed. After a few guest appearances on Drake's It's All a Blur Tour in August 2023, Wherry became the tour's official opening act. She has said that male rappers like Project Pat, Juicy J, and Gucci Mane inspire her. "Bad" and "ratchet" are how she defines her music.
