The Fresno State Bulldogs football program plays on behalf of the California State University of Fresno for American football. Jeff Tedford is the current head coach of the team. This is Tedford’s third season as the head coach of the team. The Fresno State Bulldogs are affiliated with several conferences such as the California Coast Conference, Far Western Conference, California Collegiate Athletic Association, Big West Conference, Western Athletic Conference, and Mountain West. The football team was not under any Conference in the year 1921.

Throughout the years the Fresno State Bulldogs have won a total of twenty seven Conference Championships in the years 1922, 1923, 1930, 1934, 1935, 1937, 1941, 1942, 1954, 1955, 1958, 1959, 1960, 1961, 1968, 1977, 1982, 1985, 1988, 1989, 1991, 1992, 1993, 1999, 2012, 2013 and 2018. The Bulldogs have participated in four Divisional Championships, out of which the football team has won two of them. The first head coach of the Bulldogs was Arthur W Jones. He was appointed as the head coach from the year 1921 to 1928. The Fresno State Bulldogs have a rivalry with the Boise-State, San Diego State, and San Jose State. Some of the famous players of the team are Juju Hughes, Jared Rice, Wylan Free, and Rodney Wright Jr.
