Montana State University in Bozeman, Montana, has been hosting the College National Final Rodeo since the 1990s and has been a National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association member since the 1940s. The rodeo teams hone their skills at the Brick Breeden Fieldhouse and compete mainly in the Big Sky Area.

Paige Rasmussen won the Women's All-Around in 2021, and the men's and women's rodeo teams have won multiple national titles in other events, such as saddle bronc riding (1975) by Bud Monroe, goat tying (1964) by Karen Coleman Miller, and wild cow milking (1949) by Bob Sauke. The Spring Rodeo includes many standard rodeo activities, such as bronc and bull riding, barrel racing, roping, and steer wrestling.

The men's team at Montana State University scored 3,205 points in October 2021, while the women's team scored 2,033 points, placing them first and second, respectively, in the Big Sky Region. When your beloved Bobcat cowboy or cowgirl gives it their all, there is much to see.
