Robert Lane Saget (May 17, 1956) is an American actor, stand-up comedian, director, and television host. He is from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Saget wished to be a doctor, but his Honors English teacher, Elaine Zimmerman, diverted his mind towards a film career after seeing his creative potential. He later attended Temple University's film school. His first black-and-white film was created during the university span that earned him an award of merit in the Student Academy Awards.

Saget began his official career in the industry when he got cast as Danny Tanner in Full House. It landed in the Top 30 of the Nielsen ratings. Later, he began working as the host of America's Funniest Home Videos until 1997. Saget is also the director of the 1996 ABC television movie For Hope. Dirty Work was the first feature film directed by him in 1998, starring Norm Macdonald and Artie Lange. The film was a flop overall.

Saget is well-known for hosting America's Funniest Home Videos from 1989 to 1997 and for his adult-oriented stand-up routine. The voice of the future Ted Mosby on the CBS sitcom named How I Met Your Mother was also provided by Saget (2005-2014). A few of the other films that featured Saget are; Critical Condition, For Goodness Sake, Dumb and Dumberer: When Harry Met Lloyd, Madagascar (voice), Farce of the Penguins, A Stand Up Guy, and a few more.
