It was built and opened for the general public in 1987. Currently, it is owned and managed by Alex Haagen III, who has been owning and operating this polo field since 1993. The Empire Polo Field has been leased out to Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festivals along with Stagecoach Festival, celebrated annually.
