Shoreline Amphitheatre is an outdoor amphitheater situated at One Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, California (in the San Francisco Bay Area). It was officially opened for the general public in 1986. The venue was designed by Graham to resemble The Grateful Dead's "steal your face" logo, but the only way to see the shape is from up in the sky. Shoreline Amphitheatre has a seating capacity of 22,500, with 6,500 reserved seats and 16,000 general admissions on the lawn. The parking lot has also been used during some huge events, like the Vans Warped Tour. The amphitheater is owned by the City of Mountain View and operated by Live Nation (American Global Entertainment Company). The place is an open space, but the sound system is considered to be outclassed. Some viewers prefer lawn seats since it is where most of the action takes place. The venue imposes rules such as no bottle, no can, and no alcohol policy.

On June 29, 1986, the first performance at the venue was by comedienne Rosanne Barr, opening for Julio Iglesias. Most of the famous music performers have played at Shoreline Amphitheatre, including Steve Winwood, the Dave Matthews Band, the Grateful Dead, Arcade Fire, Lady Antebellum, Tim McGraw, Motley Crue, Journey, Toby Kieth, and many more.

To purchase tickets for the upcoming events, you can visit the box office located at Shoreline Amphitheatre from Monday through Friday: 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM, Saturday 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM, or you can easily purchase tickets online at TicketsOnSale.com.
