Graceland is a mansion located in Memphis, Tennessee, once owned by an actor and singer, Elvis Presley. Since he died, the ownership was transferred to his daughter, Lisa Marie Presley. The mansion was built in 1939 and was opened as a museum to the local public on June 7, 1982. The location was listed in the National Register of Historic Places on November 7, 1991.

On March 27, 2006, Graceland was declared to be a National Historic Landmark, the very first for a rock singer. The mansion is said to be the second most-visited house in the U.S., after the White House. Over 650,000 visitors arrive at Graceland on an annual basis. Elvis, when he started his musical career, had purchased Graceland, located several miles beyond Memphis' main urban area. On March 19, 1957, Presley reportedly purchased the mansion for $102,500.

Graceland is constructed at the top of a hill, with rolling pastures surrounding, in a grove of oaks. After the death of Elvis Presley in 1977, the expense of Graceland became a burden upon his remaining family. It was decided to convert the place into the mansion, opened to the public on June 7, 1982. Some of the notable visitors at the mansion include Muhammad Ali, Paul Simon, U.S. President George W. Bush, and many more.
