It opened for the public on November 6, 1965, and currently, it is the home field of NIU Huskies of Mid-American Conference. The venue has a seating capacity of roughly 24,000 currently. Owned and operated by Northern Illinois University, the architecture was designed by Holabird & Root and HOK Sport.
