Black Jacket Symphony: An Evening of Yacht Rock

Knoxville Civic Coliseum (full name: General James White Memorial Civic Auditorium and Coliseum) is a multi-purpose events facility. It is located at 500 Howard Baker, Jr. Avenue Knoxville, Tennessee. The coliseum officially opened its doors to the public in 1961. The seating capacity of the coliseum is 6,500. It serves home to the Knoxville Ice Bears of the SPHL and the University of Tennessee Ice Vols of the ACHA. From 1992 to 1995, the venue was also the primary home arena for Smoky Mountain Wrestling. The coliseum is owned by the City of Knoxville and is operated by SMG (an American worldwide venue management group). Painter, Weeks, and McCarty design the architecture of the venue. It has three parking garages with 2,500 total spaces that offer six electric vehicle charging stations and two accompanying solar arrays.

Knoxville Civic Coliseum has hosted many performances, which include plays, circuses, symphony orchestra concerts, comedy shows, and popular music concerts. The facility also features some notable performers such as The Rolling Stones, Jimmy Buffett, and Stevie Wonder. Knoxville Civic Auditorium and Coliseum also served as the site for Randy Rhoads' final show, before his death on the very next day in a plane crash on March 18, 1982.
