The Shreveport Municipal Memorial Auditorium is a historic performance center located at 705 Elvis Presley Boulevard, Shreveport, Louisiana. The Auditorium was built in 1929 with a seating capacity of around 3,200 people at a time. The architecture of the building was designed by Samuel G. Wiener, Seymore Van Os; the firm of Jones, Olschner & Wiener of Shreveport, and Roessle. The Auditorium went through its renovation process through the years 1994-2004. The Stars Museum at the Auditorium hosts hundreds of shows/events every year. It hosts events like family shows, concerts, boxing, Broadway plays, and some other special events. The Auditorium was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in the year 1991.
The Auditorium was known as the host of the Louisiana Hayride radio program, hosted by Frank Page from the year 1925-2013. This program helped so many American artists to reach to the level where they could become a well-known artist. The program has also contributed to so many American artists' lives such as Johnny Cash, Jim Reeves, Elvis Parsley, Slim Whitman, Hack Williams, and Johnny Horton, as they got their start from this venue.
