The Ascend Amphitheater is the stunning open-air event venue, which is located 301 1st Avenue South, Nashville, Tennessee. The outdoor theatre opened to the general public on July 30th, 2015, with a construction cost of around $52 million. The amphitheater has a seating capacity of about 6,800, including 4,500 lawn seats and 2,300 fixed seats. The venue is under the ownership of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, while Live Nation Entertainment manages it. The architecture of the building was designed by Hodgetts + Fung (HplusF) design studio.
Since its opening, Ascend Amphitheater has hosted dozens of mega concerts and welcomed rock greats, pop giants, and country legends to its stage. Eric Church rocked the opening ceremony of the amphitheater with two sold-out shows on July 30 and 31, 2015. It was followed by Earth, Wind & Fire on August 1st, Chicago, and Phish on August 4th. A list of notable events hosted at the venue include; Alabama Shakes, All Time Low & Sleeping With Sirens, Amos Lee, America Fest, The Smashing Pumpkins and Marilyn Manson, Australian Pink Floyd, Bastille, Barenaked Ladies, Ben Rector, Blink-182, Boyz II Men ( with the Nashville Symphony), Brand New & Modest Mouse, Cheap Trick, Heart & Joan Jett & the Blackhearts, Chris Young, and many more. The CMA music festival was also hosted at the amphitheater on June 9 & 10, 2016.
