Allegacy Federal Credit Union Stadium is a football stadium located at 411 Deacon Blvd, Winston-Salem. It serves home to the Wake Forest baseball team and the Demon Deacons football team. The venue opened to the general public on September 14, 1968, with a construction cost of $4 million. It has a seating capacity of about 31,500 people. It is the smallest football stadium by capacity in both the ACC and in all Power 5 conferences.
The stadium is owned and operated by Wake Forest University. The architecture of the venue was designed by Walter Robbs Callahan & Pierce (renovations). It underwent renovations in the year 2006. The field was initially named after two football supporters Henry and Earl Groves but later was renamed when, in September 2007, BB&T Bank purchased the naming rights when it was called BB&T Field. The stadium consists of two bowed grandstands on both sides of the field. The southeast end zone is known as "Deacon Hill," the latest addition to Allegacy Federal Credit Union Stadium having seven-story tower houses a new press box, luxury suites, and club seats.
The first game was played at the Allegacy Federal Credit Union Stadium on September 14, 1968, when the Demon Deacons hosted NC State, 20-20 tie. The venue also serves home to some non-sports events every year.
