Alliant Energy PowerHouse is a multi-purpose arena which is located at 370 1st Avenue Northeast Cedar Rapids, Lowa. The venue opened to the public in 1979 as the Five Season Center. It has a seating capacity of around 6,900 people for Basketball and 8,600 people for concerts. VenuWorks operate the Multi-purpose arena. The construction cost was approximately $8 Million. A 16-story DoubleTree hotel facility adjoins this entertainment venue. The Alliant Energy PowerHouse was closed in July 2011 due to renovation and after improvements and renovations, the new Alliant Energy PowerHouse re-opened on 1st June 2013 with a concert performed by Lady Antebellum now known as Lady A. Now it is the second-largest convention center in the state.
The Alliant Energy PowerHouse hosts hundreds of different types of events every year, which include sports events, concerts, family shows, conventions, corporate meetings, ice shows, and high school events throughout the year. The arena is also home to the Cedar Rapids River Kings of the Indoor Football League and was known as the US Cellular Center until 2020.
