The Paramount Theatre, formerly known as Gaiety Theatre and Majestic Theatre, is a movie and a live theatre located at 713 Congress Avenue, Austin, Texas. It was open to the general public on October 11, 1915, with a construction cost of $150,000. It has a seating capacity of around 1,270 people. The theatre is under the ownership of Paramount, Inc and operated by Austin Theatre Alliance. John Eberson designed the architecture of the building. It underwent constant renovations from the 1930s to 2015. The theatre was listed in the National Register of Historic Places on June 23, 1976. It has 10 eras of showing theatre plays, live acts, musicals events, premieres of movies, concerts, orchestra, annual film festivals, along with hosting 250+ performances annually. The venue is famous for providing more than a hundred years of entertainment and performances.

Some notable events held at the venue include SXSW, Austin Film Festival, Moontower Comedy Festival in 2012, Annual Summer Classical Film Series, Blade relighting ceremony, and a few more. Famous artists who showed their talent gracing the stage include Houdini, Katharine Hepburn, Bonnie Raitt, Lyle Lovett, Sheryl Crow, Helen Hayes, Dave Brubeck, Bill Cosby, Cactus Pryor, Chelsea Handler, Dennis Miller, etc.

Famous movies premiered here are The Fabulous Texan in 1947, Batman in 1966, The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, Veronica Mars, Spring Breakers, 21 Jump Street, The Cabin in the Woods, Killer Joe, Source Code, I Love You, Man, Drag Me to Hell, and a few more.
