This concert hall is a historic theatre building as well as a performing arts center which is located at 1037 SW Broadway, Portland, Oregano, United States. The two formal names to this concert hall are, Portland Publix Theatre (1928-1930) and Paramount Theatre (1930-1984). The nickname to this theatre is, “The Schnitz” which is under the ownership of the City of Portland. The Arlene Schnitzer is one of the last surviving theatres among Broadway venues which is also a film and concert venue. It is home to Portland Youth Philharmonic, White Bird Dance company, etc.

Arlene Schnitzer has a seating capacity of 2,776 with Dressing rooms meant for 90 and a Portable Acoustic shell. The architectural style of this building is an Italian Rococo Revival. It was a movie house till 1972 which later converted into a concert hall. The total seating capacity is 3000 approx.

In July 1928, the theatre went under an unusual robbery by a young man, Robert Nolan. Later in September 1983, the theatre went under major renovation by the Boora Architects. The renovated Arlene Schnitzer concert hall now hosts a variety of events; dance, theatre, music, weddings, conferences, etc. Some prominent stage appearances held in the concert hall are Anita Page, The Marx Brothers, Louis Armstrong, Heart, The Nation, etc.
