Orpheum Theatre - Boston
Louis C.K.
The Orpheum Theatre is a music venue that was formerly known as Boston Music Hall. It is located at Hamilton Place, Boston, Massachusetts. The inauguration of the Theater was held in 1852. It has a seating capacity of 2,700 people at a time. Orpheum is one of the oldest theatres in the United States. It was built in 1852, and its architecture was designed by a famous architect named Thomas White Lamb.
It was rebuilt within the old walls to convert it into a vaudeville theatre in 1900. The site includes restrooms for men and women in the lobby and mezzanine levels. Boston Music Hall, Empire Theatre, Loew’s Orpheum Theatre, and Aquarius Theatre were the previously given names to this Theater. It is operated as the mix-used hall, mostly for live music concerts.
The Orpheum theatre is currently in the ownership of The Druker Reality company and is being operated by Crossroads Presents. James Brown was the first featured performer in the Orpheum theatre. Several famously known celebrities perform here to entertain the audience, such as the U2. The Police were recorded live in Orpheum. The theatre has hosted almost everything from vaudeville to the symphony, movies and now it serves as a rock concert venue.
