Sanford Stadium is a football venue located at the University of Georgia, Sanford Dr and Field St, Athens, Georgia. The facility serves home to the Georgia Bulldogs football team. Built at a construction cost of US$360,000, Stanford Stadium inaugurated on October 12, 1929, where Georgia played Yale in front of 30,000 fans. It has a seating capacity of approximately 92,746 people. Currently, the venue is owned and managed by the University of Georgia. It underwent renovations in 1994 and 2018. Atwood and Nash Heeray Architects designed the architecture of the stadium.

Georgia played its first night game in 1940 against Kentucky to a 7-7 tie. In 1981, lights were re-installed in the Sanford Stadium. On September 6, 1982, the first game played under the new lights against Clemson. On October 28, 1995, the University of Florida scored 50+ points against Georgia in the stadium. The 1996 Summer Olympic football competition of women's and men's was also hosted in the stadium. Some famous singers, including Luke Bryan, Jason Aldean, Thomas Rhett, and Jake Owen have graced the stadium with their live concerts. Kelly Clarkson and Ludacris gave their performances at the stadium in April 2013. A few memorable games in the history of Sanford Stadium are Georgia vs. Yale 1929, Georgia vs. Alabama 1965, Georgia vs. Clemson 1984, Georgia vs. Tennessee 2000 and Georgia vs. Auburn 2007.
