Bagwell Field at Dowdy Ficklen Stadium is known as the on-campus football facility for the East Carolina Pirates. Located in Greenville, North Carolina, the venue has an official seating capacity of approximately 51,000. This capacity makes it the second-largest college stadium in North Carolina. The stadium opened officially for the public on September 21, 1963.

The initial construction of Dowdy Ficklen Stadium was announced on October 7, 1961. President Leo Jenkins announced a new stadium to replace College Stadium. The name of the venue is kept in honor of James Skinner Ficklen, the owner of E.B. Skinner Tobacco Company from Greenville.

Renovations of the Dowdy Ficklen Stadium took place in 1991 for the first time, although it has since been renovated several times in 2002, 2009-2010, and 2018-2019. The first seating expansion was done in 1967-1968 when the capacity was increased to 20,000, while the latest seating expansion took place in 2010. The architect of the Dowdy Ficklen Stadium was done by Dudley & Shoe. Currently, the ownership and operations of the venue are under East Carolina University.
