The Hampton Coliseum is a multi-purpose arena located at 1000 Coliseum Drive, Hampton, Virginia. The venue was opened for the general public on December 1, 1969, with a seating capacity of around 13,800 (Concerts), and 9,777 (Basketball). The arena is owned and operated by the City of Hampton. The architecture of the Hampton Coliseum was designed by Odell Associates.

The arena has hosted the college basketball ECAC south region tournament Division I, which was organized in 1980 and 1981. In 1985, Sun Belt Conference Men’s Basketball Tournament was held at the venue. From 1970-1995, the Old Dominion Monarchs basketball played their occasional games throughout the years. The arena is home to the Virginia Duals annual wrestling tournament.

Elvis Presley performed two times in the arena; the first time in April 1972, and then in March 1974. The Grateful Dead had a concert in 1989 at the venue. Some big names who performed at the arena are Led Zeppelin, BassNectar, Pink Floyd, Tina Turner, Jerry Garcia Band, String Cheese Incident, and Widespread Panic. It also remained the most popular venue with Phish.
