The Louis Brown Athletic Center, now known as the Rutgers Athletic Center (RAC), is a multi-purpose arena located in Piscataway, New Jersey. The venue is situated on Rutgers University's Livingston Campus, and it has a seating capacity of 8,000. The arena broke ground in 1975, and it opened for the public on November 30, 1977. The arena is under the ownership of Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, and is operated by the same body. The building of the arena is shaped like a truncated tent with trapezoidal sides. The arena serves as the home field to the men's and women's Rutgers Scarlet Knights basketball teams. The wrestling and gymnastic teams also use the arena as their home turf.

Louis Brown Athletic Center opened with a win against rival Seton Hall. Until 1986, the arena was named the Rutgers Athletic Center. It was also given the name Louis Brown Athletic Center to honor Louis Brown, a Rutgers graduate. He also made a large endowment to the University in his will. Currently, the arena is said to be the loudest college basketball arena when the capacity reaches maximum.

Louis Brown Athletic Center hosted 1985 and 1989 Atlantic 10 Conference men's basketball tournaments and the 1996 Professional Bowlers Association tournament. It also hosts non-sports events such as the Grateful Dead concert, Grand Illusion by Styx, and SpringBlaze 2008.
