Previously known as the Paramount Theater and Comerford Theater, F.M Kirby center is a historic theatre for the performing arts. It is located at Wilkes-Barre, Luzerne County, Pennsylvania. Built-in 1937, it has an Art Deco Moderne Style with an irregular trapezoidal shape. Made of brick and steel with four-bay wide, this theatre has terra cotta and marble front façade which has a central tower, stylized ziggurat composition, marquee, and corrugated steel decoration. In 1980, it became one of the National Register of Historic Places. F.M Kirby center has a seating capacity of more than 2000 people. This theatre has a nursery with a matron, air conditioning, and technically advanced with hearing aid.

It was open to the public as Comerford Movie Theater in 1938. Since that time, it has hosted many artists, movies and concerts. Movies like Alexander's Ragtime Band, starring, Tyrone Power, Don Ameche, and Alice Faye were shown here. Apart from that grand opera to a cattle auction, from musicians to comedians, from ballet to acrobats, Broadway musicals to 18th Century dramas, from magicians to ice skaters, and the Young People's Theater which attracts many students. Moreover, F.M Kirby Center hosted major political figures, countless meetings, graduations, religious ceremonies, parties, and weddings.
