Ruth Eckerd Hall is a performing arts complex located at 1111 McMullen Booth Road, Clearwater, Florida. Its ground was shattered in 1979 and opened to the general public on October 15, 1983, with a construction cost of $14.5 million. Ruth Eckerd Hall has a seating capacity of 2,180 people. The venue is under the ownership of Ruth Eckerd Hall, Inc. while operated by the owner. Taliesin Associated Architects designed the theater. The complex is a source of attraction for the young generation and the adult audience. Nearly 350,000 people visit Ruth Eckerd Hall every year. The auditorium has a universal seating with no aisle in the center. The hall is named in honor of Ruth Eckerd, the wife of businessman Jack Eckerd.
Some popular performances staged at the venue include world-renowned classical artists, dance companies, Broadway musicals, and pop stars. The theater also serves host to an arts education program for approximately 100,000 students and adults annually. The Florida Orchestra is a conventional performer at Ruth Eckerd Hall.
