The New Jersey Performing Arts Center is located at 1 Center Street, Newark, New Jersey. This is one of the largest performing arts centers in the United States that was opened in October 1997. The arena is equipped with different seating capacities such as 2,800 (Prudential hall), 514 (Victoria Theatre), 88 (Horizon Theatre), 350 (Chase Room). Barton Myers designed the architecture of the arena.

The arena has been home to the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra (NJSO). The center hosts hundreds of events and shows every year. In 2010, Geraldine R. Dodge Poetry Festival took place in the venue for the first time in its history. The TD James Moody Democracy of Jazz Festival was inaugurated by the arts center in October 2012. For a special program “New Jersey Speaker Series,” NJPAC partnered with Fairleigh Dickinson University. The event is held at the center every year after its fifth line-up in 2018-2019. Some notable speakers who have attended this unique program include Bill Clinton, who was the 42nd President of the United States.

The NJPAC had also formed its Women’s Association back in 1994. Some of the founders of this association are Patti Chambers, Joan Budd, Sally Chubb, Sheila Labrecque, and Pat Ryan. Some other people who are also included in the foundation of this Women’s Association.
