Joan C. Edwards Stadium is an American football stadium located in Huntington, West Virginia, on the campus of Marshall University. The venue has a seating capacity of 38,227 since 2013. The stadium recorded the highest attendance of 41,382 on September 10, 2010. Rosser FABRAP designed the architect of the stadium. The venue has gone through many surface changes such as Omniturf (1991-1997), AstroTurf (1998-2004), FieldTurf (2005-2013), and once again AstroTurf since 2014. The Edwards Stadium was publicly opened on September 7, 1991. The venue has hosted NCAA Division I Football Championship from 1992-1996.

In July 1994, Edwards Stadium underwent its first renovation that saw the expansion of the additional 2,000 seats. Another seating expansion was made in August 2000. The stadium was named in honor of James F. Edwards on September 4, 1993, a donor to Marshall University. The stadium itself was once again renamed Joan C. Edwards Stadium in November 2013. The venue is also known as one of only two in NCAA Division I that’s named exclusively for a woman.

Edwards Stadium has hosted NCAA Division I-AA national championship game several times in the 1990s, including 1992 and 1996. MAC championship game has also been conducted at the stadium in 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, and 2002. Edwards stadium has also hosted the 2014 Conference USA championship game. Kentucky Christian University played three of its home football games in 2010. The top 4 games with record attendance include 40,592 (September 24, 2016), 40,383 (September 8, 2007), 38,791 (September 6, 2015), and 36,914 (September 10, 2005).
