Coney Island Amphitheater at Coney Island Boardwalk is a popular outdoor live entertainment venue. It is located within the Child's Restaurants building, Coney Island, Brooklyn, New York City. The venue has a seating capacity of 5,000 and was opened for the public on June 25, 2016. The construction planning for the Coney Island Amphitheater started in 2012, while the actual construction began in 2015. The venue was first constructed at the Childs Restaurant location, which was initially built in 1923.
The very first show at the newly opened Coney Island Amphitheater at Coney Island Boardwalk was the Impractical Jokers. The show took place on July 1, 2016, and many other notable performances followed. This includes Peter Gabriel and Sting's performances on July 3 and The Beach Boys and special guest John Stamoson on July 4. Some of the other notable acts that rocked the stage of Coney Island Amphitheater during its inaugural season included the Culture Club, Travis Scott, Hollywood Vampires, 311, Counting Crows, Willie Nelson, and Widespread Panic.
