The Wolf Trap, which is formerly known as the Wolf Trap Farm Park for the Performing Arts is one of the prime spots in the Washington D.C. metro area to see a summer concert. It is located at 1551 Trap Road, Vienna, Virginia. The arena has a seating capacity of around 7,024. The amphitheater is owned and operated by Wolf Trap Foundation for the Performing Arts. MacFadyen and Knowles designed the architecture of the amphitheater. The Wolf Trap consists of three venues which are Filene Center, Meadow Pavilion, and Children's Theatre in the Woods. All three host different types of shows for the public. The inaugural event took place at the Wolf Trap on June 1 - 2, 1971, where New York City Opera with Norman Treigle played. It featured Julius Rudel and Van Cliburn.
The arena hosts hundreds of events every year. Some events which have taken place at the venue are the New York Philharmonic Orchestra where Pierre Boulez was featured. It was also known for conducting large social gatherings including the Dumbarton Oaks Conference in 2014, and the appearance of prominent public figures of World War II Generals George C. Marshall and Omar Bradley also took place here.
