Neumos is a common name, or probably a nickname given to the Neumos Crystal Ball Reading Room. It is a mid-size music venue that is located in Seattle, Washington. Being one of the legendary Seattle music venues in Capitol Hill, Neumos was originally opened for the local public in 1992. It was inaugurated as Moe’s Mo’Roc’N Café. Later in 2003, the venue was reborn under its current name, pronounced as “New Moe’s.” The music venue underwent a major facelift in 2017, and new state-of-the-art lighting and sound systems were installed.
Neumos is well known for hosting many other neighborhood businesses. The venue includes Barboza, The Runaway, and one more close-up and intimate showroom below street level. Some of the notable names that have performed at the Neumos include The Raconteurs, Muse, The Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Feist, The Shins, Bloc Party, Vampire Weekend, Jens Lekman, Cut Copy, The Avett Brothers, Adele, Spiritualized, Damian Marley, MGMT, and Yeasayer.
Some of the big names that recently rocked the stage at the Neumos include Justice, Diplo, Cat Power, Metric, Stars, Super Furry Animals, The Cave Singers, Eagles of Death Metal, Living Legends, Rilo Kiley, Mission of Burma, Patton Oswald, The Notwist, and Ben Gibbard.
