The W.L Lyons Brown Theatre, genuinely known as the Brown Theatre, is a restored theatre located at 315 W. Broadway, Louisville, Kentucky. The theatre opened to the general public on October 5, 1925. The seating capacity of Brown Theatre is 1,400. The theatre is owned by Fund for the Arts and is operated by The Kentucky Center. Caudill, Rowlett, and Scott designed the architecture of the theatre. It was named after J. Graham Brown, who was a native of Indiana. The venue underwent renovation on and off in 1962, 1971, and 1995. In 2010, the theatre was announced as the 9th most elegant venue worldwide by Billboard Magazine. It is also registered in the National Register of Historic Places.

Notable significant events that took place at the Brown Theatre include; Presidential meeting between President Ronald Reagan and Walter Mondale in 1984, The Kentucky Center Governor’s School for the Arts show with about 120 students with six arts performances (including; creative writing, dance, drama, Instrumental Music, Visual Art, and Vocal Music in 1986), etc. The theatre also organized a state-wide open house all-day-long party and gathered all the principal performers, various arts organizations, and people from around the commonwealth on the celebration day of 10th-year completion in 1993.
