Boston Symphony Orchestra - Lang Lang

Tanglewood is a music venue located at 297 West Street, Lenox, Massachusetts. Boston Symphony Orchestra officially owns the grounds. It has been the summer home for Boston Symphony since the year 1937. Tanglewood is home to three schools of music, namely: Tanglewood Music Center, Days in the Arts, and the Boston University Tanglewood Institute. This music venue was constructed between the years 1937 and 1938. Formerly named as Berkshire Music Center, this venue has a seating capacity of 5,700 people. It hosts various types of music concerts, such as classical, jazz, and pop. James Taylor, John Williams, and Boston Pops are often seen making frequent appearances at the shed.

Tanglewood – Koussevitzky Music Shed began the Boston Symphony Orchestra’s era in 1936 under the direction of conductor Serge Koussevitzky with an invitation to perform its first concert in the Berkshires on August 13, 1936. The BSO then remained the Crown Jewel of the music festival for 8 consecutive years. In 1937, the festival moved to Tanglewood, which took its name from the Tanglewood Tales. The following year, “The Shed” was constructed with roughly 5,100 seats for the BSO to have their permanent open-air structure to perform. The Koussevitzky Music Shed was officially inaugurated in 1938. Not only the Tanglewood hosts musical concerts but also provides musical training to various group of young musicians. The music shed was later on renovated in the year 1959 with a magnificent arrangement of seats and stage.
