Located in New Haven, Connecticut, The Shubert Theatre is a non-profit organization by The Connecticut Association for the Performing Arts under the sponsorship of the Columbus Association for the Performing Arts. It is 1600 seat theatre which was built by the H.E. Murdock Construction Company designed and designed by Albert Swazey, a New York architect. It was opened to the public in 1910.

The Shubert Theatre offers accommodations for people who are deaf, blind, partially sighted, and have hearing loss. For every performance, the theatre provides infrared assistive listening devices, hand-held audio description devices, and hand-held captioning devices. It allows downloading audio descriptions and captioning on personal mobile devices without any fee.

The Shubert Theatre has accessible seating to all parts of the Orchestra without steps. There is a Mezzanine location which is located on the 2nd level, and its entrance is behind row K. The balcony is located on the third level, and its entrance is behind row J. Handrails are available at the end of every stepped seat row in the Balcony and Mezzanine. Restrooms are also located on the Balcony and Mezzanine Levels. There is a Sardi restaurant in the Shubert Theatre.
