Chase Stadium is an American soccer stadium located in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. With a seating capacity of 18,000, the stadium is also a temporary home for Inter Miami CF of Major League Soccer. The stadium was opened to the public on July 18, 2020, and was designed by Manica Architecture.
The Major League Soccer expansion team, Inter Miami CF, announced that they want to pursue the Stadium site to serve as the training ground for their club in January 2019. Fort Lauderdale City Commission approved the 50-year lease agreement with Inter Miami for the Lockhart Stadium on July 9, 2019. As per the agreement, the ownership will be retained to the City of Fort Lauderdale, and Inter Miami will be responsible for the maintenance, operation, and construction of the facilities.
Inter Miami CF announced the club’s inaugural match was scheduled to be played on March 14, 2020, against the LA Galaxy. However, due to COVID-19, on July 18, 2020, the first soccer match was played behind closed doors at the venue, featuring reserve teams of Inter Miami team Fort Lauderdale CF.
