Minute Maid Park, previously known as Enron Field, The Ballpark at Union Station, and Astros Field, is a ballpark situated at 501 Crawford Street, Houston, Texas. It is Houston's first retractable-roof stadium that features a natural grass playing field. The total seating capacity of the venue is 41,168, featuring nine different seating areas: Bullpen Boxes, Field Boxes, Crawford Boxes, Dugout Boxes, Club Tier I, Club Tier II, Mezzanine, Terrace Deck, Torchy's Party Deck, Upper Deck, and Budweiser Brew House. The ballpark was built and opened for the public on March 30, 2000. The venue is owned and operated by the Harris County-Houston Sports Authority. The architecture of the venue is designed by HOK Sport (now Populous) Molina & Associates.
On March 30, 2000, The Houston Astros and New York Yankees played an exhibition game, with Houston winning 6-5. On April 7, 2000, The Astros hosted the Philadelphia Phillies in the first official regular-season game, with Philadelphia winning 4-1. Some other significant events held in the ballpark include: Astros vs. Atlanta Braves (the longest postseason game in Major League Baseball history to date) held on October 9, 2000. It hosted the first World Series game ever played in Texas, and the longest World Series game ever played, on October 25, 2005. On the opening day of the year 2010, on April 5, Park surpassed its highest attendance total by selling 43,836 tickets.
