Progressive Field is a baseball park that was formerly known as Jacob’s Field. The ballpark is located at Ontario Street, Cleveland, Ohio. It was open to the general public on April 2, 1994. Progressive Field has a seating capacity of 34,788 people. HOK sports designed the architecture of this baseball park. Progressive Field is owned by Cuyahoga County and is operated by Gateway Economic Development Corporation. The venue underwent renovations in October 2014 - April 2015 and October 2015 - October 2016. The park was ranked as the Major League’s Baseball best park in a Sports Illustrated fan opinion poll in 2008.
Progressive Field serves as the home field to the Cleveland Indians of Major League Baseball. Other than baseball, the venue also serves host to hockey games, concerts, and other entertainment events. Progressive Field hosted its very first ice hockey game on January 15, 2012, which was held between Michigan Wolverines and Ohio State Buckeyes. It is occasionally used as a venue for concerts. On August 12, 1995, the stadium hosted its first concert, which featured Jimmy Buffet (who played at the ballpark as a part of his Domino College Tour). The Indians hosted the Indians Music Festival in 2011 that featured Blake Shelton and Brad Paisley. Jason Aldean played at the park in 2014 as a part of his Burn It Down Tour that also included Miranda Lambert, Tyler Farr, and Florida Georgia Line. “Snow Days” is another event that made its debut in November 2010 at the ballpark.
