The PNC Music Pavilion, also named as the Blockbuster Pavilion and formerly Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre, is located at 707 Pavilion Blvd, Charlotte, North Carolina. The venue was opened to the general public on July 4, 1991. The Pavilion has a seating capacity of 19,500 (7,232 seats under Pavilion, 2,221 reserved seats on the lawn, and 10,000 general admission seats). The Pavilion is owned and operated by Live Nation.
Many auspicious musical acts have been hosted by this Pavilion, including rock, alternative, pop, country, jazz, rhythms, and blues. Various types of events and festivals have also been organized by the PNC Music Pavilion. Some popular events are the Paul McCartney’s final North American concert of The New World Tour, presented by the Amphitheatre on June 15, 1993, which was broadcast on Fox.
