Camp Randall Stadium is an outdoor stadium located at 1440 Monroe Street, University of Wisconsin, Madison, Wisconsin. The stadium serves as a home field to the Wisconsin Badgers football since 1895 and as a fully functional stadium since 1917. It is said to be the oldest and fifth largest stadium in the Big Ten Conference, whereas, 41st largest stadium in the world. Ths stadium has a seating capacity of 80,321 people. The venue is under the ownership and is operated by the University of Wisconsin–Madison. The stadium was open for the general public on November 3, 1917. It underwent renovation in the year 2004 while expansions in the years 1921, 1924, 1940, 1951, 1958, 1966, and 2004. The site was built at a construction cost of $15,000. Arthur Peabody, along with Bernes-Schobler Associates, Inc., designed the architecture of the building. The stadium was named after then Governor Alexander Randall, who later became the Postmaster General of the United States. The venue also houses the athletic offices of the university.
Camp Randall Stadium hosts Badger football events accompanied by several traditions. Some famous ones are The Fifth Quarter, the Jump Around tradition, and a few more. The Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association also uses the stadium for its state football championships.
The Green Bay Packers have played 12 exhibition games at the venue. Outdoor hockey games were also played at the stadium by the University of Wisconsin men's and women's ice hockey teams. Drum Corps International used the stadium as the site for its world championships in 1985, 1986, 1987, 1992, 1999, 2002, and 2006. The massive crowd held at the venue was of 83,184 fans at a game played against Iowa on November 12, 2005. Some popular concerts held at the venue were performed by Genesis, U2, Pink Floyd, The Rolling Stones, etc.
