The Durham Performing Arts Center is the largest performing arts center in the Carolinas which is located at 123 Vivian Street, Durham, North Carolina, United States. The theater was opened on November 30, 2008. The DPAC, as it is often referred, has a seating capacity of around 2,712 people at a time. It has also listed three times in Pollstar Magazine’s worldwide theater attendance ranking. The theater is owned by the City of Durham. In 2017, the renovation of around $1.8 million was done where all the seats and carpets were removed.

It was developed by the American Center for the Performing Arts Associates. The opening night of the center hosted a concert where B.B. King performed. National Touring acts are primarily hosted at this venue. The venue has also hosted the final concert tour in September 2018 of Joan Baez’s. Recently, the theater has also featured Bob Dylan on the stage. In 2018, the venue was also honored to host The Color Purple. Every year, the center hosts approximately 200 events including American Dance Festival, High profile concerts, Comedy Events, and Family Shows.
