MM Roberts Stadium is an American football stadium located at 118 College Drive, Hattiesburg, Mississippi. It is also known as The Rock. The facility serves home to The University of Southern Mississippi Golden Eagles football team. The venue was initially inaugurated on October 29, 1932, as Faulkner Field. It has a current seating capacity of around 36,000 people. The stadium is owned and operated by the University of Southern Mississippi. Heery and Heery Architects designed the architecture of the stadium. It underwent several renovations in the years 1976, 1989, 2002, and 2008.
The playing field at Roberts Stadium got renamed Carlisle-Faulkner Field at M.M. in 2004. The stadium has seen great Southern Miss players throughout its years, including NFL standouts Brett Favre and Ray Guy. The attendance record of 36,641 people was achieved at the venue on September 5 in the 2015 season opener against Mississippi State. The State teachers college defeated Spring Hill College with 12-0 on October 29, 1932, at the venue. In 2006, The Golden Eagles drew 92,323 fans with an average of 30,774 for games that include North Carolina State (31,748), Southeastern Louisiana (28,258), and Houston (32,317). The Houston and NC State contests are the 11th and 14th most massive crowds in the history of M.M. Roberts Stadium.
