Stanford Stadium is an outdoor athletic stadium located at Stanford University, 625 Nelson Road, Stanford, California. It is the official home field for the Stanford Cardinal college football team. The venue opened the doors to the general public on October 1, 1921, like football and track and field stadium. It was torn down and rebuilt as a dual-deck concrete structure without a track on September 16, 2006, at the cost of US$90 million. The current seating capacity of the stadium is around 50,424 people. It is owned and operated by Stanford University. Hoover and Associates completed the renovation of the stadium.

The very first game played at the old stadium was a match between Stanford and rival California, where Stanford defeated the opponent by 42–7. Stanford Stadium set a massive record of 94,000 audiences in 1935, with a 13–0 victory over California. Super Bowl XIX was held in the stadium on January 1985. It has also hosted soccer matches for the 1984 Summer Olympics, the 1994 FIFA World Cup, and the 1999 FIFA Women's World Cup. Every year since 2011, the venue hosts Major League Soccer's San Jose Earthquakes. An American politician, Herbert Hoover, delivered a speech at the stadium for the 1928 Republican Presidential nomination. Popular band Glass Animals hosted a sizzling concert at the stadium on May 2018.
