Great Frederick Fair is located less than an hour from Washington DC, Baltimore, and Gettysburg, in the City of Frederick, Maryland. The fair is popular for promoting education and agriculture to youth. It first commenced in 1822 and has been operating at the same site since 1870. The Great Frederick Fair owns an amazingly rich history in Frederick County and recently celebrated its 158th anniversary in 2020. The fair's primary operating staff includes Karen Crum Nicklas as General Manager, Alice Stevens as Office & Billing Manager, Chris Spangler as Media & Technology Manager, Michele Lowe, and Jacqui Nigh. The president of the Great Frederick Fair is Charles B. Cramer, whereas the vice president is Nancy F. Keller.

The event is an annual 9-day celebration which takes place in September. The fair is organized in the Frederick Fairgrounds, which is a year-round rental property. Some 230,000-250,000 visitors attend the fair on an annual basis. In the third week of September, the core activities of the fair include the exhibition of the farm, garden, livestock, and handmade goods.
