The Mayo Clinic Health System Event Center is a multi-purpose arena located in Mankato, Minnesota. The venue was opened for the public on February 3, 1995. It is owned and operated by the City of Mankato. The arena has a seating capacity of 5,280 (ice hockey) and 8,200 (concerts). It was formerly known as Mankato Civic Center (1995–1999, 2019), Midwest Wireless Civic Center (1999–2007), Alltel Center (2007–2009), Verizon Wireless Center (2009–2017), and Verizon Center (2017–2019). The arena serves as the home field to the Minnesota State Mavericks men's ice hockey team and the women's ice hockey team. The venue is also known for hosting conventions, concerts, and other musical events.
The Mayo Clinic underwent some major expansion in 2015. The City of Mankato announced the most recent naming rights of the venue on December 30, 2019, which were effective on January 1, 2020. Some of the past naming rights holders of the arena include Midwest Wireless phone company, Alltel, and the Verizon Wireless Center.
Some of the notable past artists and bands who performed at the arena are Jeff Dunham, John Mellencamp, Kenny Rogers, KISS, Elton John, James Taylor, Aerosmith, Tom Petty, and many more.
