CIBC Theatre, previously known as PrivateBank Theatre, was built on New Year's Day in 1906 and initially known as the Majestic Theatre. Since its launch, it became a popular destination for vaudeville acts and presented many famous vaudeville headliners such as Harry Houdini, Fanny Brice, Al Jolson, Lily Langtry, and many more. The theater has been a home for numerous musical and classic plays and theatrical productions including The King and I, My Fair Lady, the Chicago premiere of Rent, Julie Andrews in Victor/Victoria, the Pre-Broadway engagements of The Goodbye Girl, Billy Joel and Twyla Tharp's Movin' Out and the Broadway Blockbusters The Book of Mormon and Hamilton.
