The McCallum Theatre is a theatre and concert venue which is located at 73000 Fred Waring Drive, Palm Desert, California. The theatre has a seating capacity of 1,127 people at a time. It is a Performing Arts Center that was inaugurated in January 1988. The venue was built by an independent non-profit corporation, Friends of the Cultural Center, Inc. and it is owned and operated by the same. The Anthony and Langford Architects designed the architecture of the building. The opening ceremony of the concert venue was accompanied by Bob Hope via a nationally televised concert on January 2, 1988. The theater is considered as an intimate jewel by the legends. It was rated as the top ticket-selling venue in California by Pollstar magazine.

The McCallum Theatre was built with a vision to provide the visitors with a world-class performing arts site that programs with diversity. The venue has been honored by the presence of many best artists, rock and pop icons, dance legends, orchestras, classical soloists, and many big-named stars. Some top of the list performers is Cab Calloway, Vienna Boys’ Choir, Johnny Cash, Rudolf Nureyev, Mel Tormé, Paul & Mary, Patti Page, Isaac Stern, Oprah Winfrey, Linda Ronstadt, Yo-Yo Ma, Steve Martin, Juan Gabriel, Janet Jackson, and including dozens of others Broadway productions. The theatre is also into educational activities that offer intensive and enriching arts literacy experiences. It serves approximately 40,000 children, parents, and educators annually for this purpose.
