The Coronado Performing Arts Center, also known as Coronado Theatre, is located at 314 North Main Street, Rockford, Illinois. The theatre has a seating capacity of approximately 2,400 people. The venue was first open to the general public on October 9, 1927, with a construction cost of about $1.5 million. Frederic J. Klein, Bell, and Walter Scott Co. designed the architecture of the Coronado Performing Arts Center. The theatre got shut in 1970 when the former owner Kerasotes Theatre Organization dedicated the property to the City of Rockford. It was reopened in 2001. Currently, the venue is owned and managed by the City of Rockford.

Coronado Theatre was selected as one of the Illinois 200 Great Places in 2018 by the American Institute of Architects Illinois Component. It was also added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1979. The theatre was also declared as “the No. 1 Architecture Wonder of United States.”

Coronado Performing Arts Center hosts a variety of events, including concerts, theatre, stage shows, and musical events. It also hosted a presidential campaign stop by John F. Kennedy.
