The Moore Theatre is located at 1932 2nd Ave Seattle, Washington. The venue is a performing arts site with a seating capacity of 1,400 to 1,000 seats. The Moore Theatre was opened for the general public on December 28th, 1907. The theatre is built by James A. Moore of Seattle real estate and is currently owned and operated by the Seattle Theatre Group. The architecture of the theater was designed by E. W. Houghton and once characterized as innovative with splendid decoration and lavish materials. It had an unusually large number of dressing rooms. It is famous as the oldest still-active venue in Seattle. The Moore Theatre serves primarily as a music venue, but it also hosts events like theatrical productions, lectures, concerts, etc. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in the year 1947. The venue was considered one of the largest theatres in Seattle.

Over the course of the century, the Moore Theater has witnessed its share of celebrities and performances including presentations of Julius Caesar by Shakespeare, deaf-blind lecturer Helen Keller (1914), and considered as the birthplace of the first Seattle International Film Festival (SIFF, founded 1976). Also, some notable events held at this venue include Anna Pavlova's performance, James Blunt concert, The Who's rock opera Tommy, Two Progman Cometh music festivals, Alice in Chains' Live Facelift home video release, and much more. In 2007 it hosted "Seattle's Oldest Operating Theater" event series.
